The past couple of weeks the temps dropped pretty drastically here in Wisconsin and that’s had us craving warm, comfort food. I’m always on the lookout for new recipes for fun dishes to take when headed to a friends to watch football or when friends are coming over for apps & a drink. We’re pretty big fans of cheese in this house, and bacon! I came up with this delicious recipe for Cheesy Chicken & Bacon Dip with Crystal Farms® block cheese to cure our cravings and it didn’t disappoint. The kids were huge fans and if I hadn’t stopped them, they might have finished the entire dish!
We love Crystal Farms cheese. Not just because it’s from Wisconsin, but because it’s rich in calcium and tastes amazing. I love combining a couple of different cheeses in a recipe most times, it just adds so much to the flavor. Their cheese is a natural product made with very few preservatives. You’ll find them in the refrigerated dairy section of your super market. Who doesn’t love and eat cheese on the regular? Crystal Farms has so many different types of tasty cheese.
1 cup Crystal Farms® Sharp Cheddar Cheese Block (grated or chopped into very small cubes)
1 cup Crystal Farms® Gouda Cheese Block (grated or chopped into very small cubes)
2 cups Creme Natural (or Sour Cream)
1 cup crumbled Bacon
1/4 cup diced and sautéed onions
2 cups diced Chicken cooked
1 tsp Taco Seasoning
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Pepper
Pre-heat the oven to 350′. Cook diced Chicken in a pan with the taco seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper. Cook bacon (in the oven is SO easy), crumbled and set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine the Creme Natural, Cheeses, Chicken, Bacon and Onion. Mix well and spread into a baking dish (I used a glass pie pan). Place the dish into the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes. Remove and serve hot with chips or flatbread! Relish!
When you have guests over, or head to a friends house for a potluck what do you like to serve/bring? This time of year is the best for warm, comfort dishes like this Cheesy Chicken & Bacon Dip!
